Data Fair 2012
OCTOBER 19 PD Day
Below is an outline of what our morning together on October 19th will look like. I know I said during Opening Week that we would try to share the location love for our next meeting, but I didn't get the request to change venue in on time...so we are back at Johnson High School. Thank you Johnson teachers for letting us use your classrooms for our breakout sessions.
Please let me know if you have any questions or comments about the day.

Curriculum Work- Calling the Greater ELA:
- The Common Core pilot teachers will be getting together periodically throughout the year (about 6 times) to look at student work from the new units, discuss successes and areas to adjust, and plan for/finish up writing future units. In an effort to have the greater ELA involved in the process, I'd like you to consider attending one of these six meetings.
- The expectation for you for the time would be to listen to what's been happening large-scale and at your grade level, look at student work from the pilot units, participate in the conversations about upcoming units and then when you return to your school, talk with your department about your experience.
- In a perfect world, each meeting would have one or two teachers from each school attend each meeting so that by the end of this school year, a large percentage of our district ELA department would have had input into the work.
- Our second meeting is November 7th from 2:30-6:30 in Central High School's library. Please contact Kristen Lynch if you are interested in attending this meeting or would just generally like more information.
